A Welcome from Club Captain: Duncan Steele
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Guy's Hospital RFC the oldest rugby club in the world.
This will be our 166th season and my second season with the club. For me Guy's rugby epitomises the best of what our great game has to offer. Exciting rugby, played with all the enthusiasm that comes from being part of a great club full of not only good players but good friends too.
In my first season we tasted the success of United Hospitals Cup victory with both our 1st and 2nd fifteens and promotion from Kent 2 for our 1st team. Jonny Elias's footsteps will be difficult to follow but hopefully I can help lead the club to the future success I'm certain we are capable of.
Whether it's the 1st fifteen UH cup final or a penguin's tour our players give everything and have a great time doing it. The club is littered with great talent and an enthusiastic committee that exude both enthusiasm and experience.
We will be back playing at the home of Guy's Rugby, Honour Oak Park, although it is still being developed. The obligatory portacabins for the first part of the season will matter a lot less than our return to a place we call home.
Like many university and senior clubs player development is key to our future success. Many players joining the club will, no matter who they are, will find themselves struggling to make the starting sides of 1st and 2nd teams but I assure you that perseverance is not just something that helps you become a better player but is an essential attribute to any Guy's player.
I am looking forward to a very exciting season in the long history of the club and hope you can come play or support us in our endeavours over the 2009/2010 season.

A Welcome from GKT Student Captain: Charlie West
I'd like to firstly echo our club captain in welcoming you to our rugby club. This season holds a lot of promise, and I'm sure Duncan and I with the rest of the committee will ensure our coming year is as successful as it can be both on and off the field.
Although in the past the club's relationship with KCLSU has been awkward the financial and administrative support the union provides is good. New to this season are proposals of a mutual beneficial rivalry with the King's College rugby team, which include: friendly fixtures, free use of the university gym and free consultations with fitness and injury experts. We will keep a close eye on how this develops.
With a good new batch of players arriving in September and a high number of doctors and graduates playing on Saturdays there is no reason why we can't push for promotion in all leagues and win every UH tournament.
